Arose is a font I designed through the first half of 2020. It’s a monumental display typeface, with very expressive boldness, and strong contrasts between its dense weight and thin lines. The typeface is heavily inspired by 70’s lettering and signage, making a nostalgic and yet contemporary alphabet. It follows a strict 3:1:3 grid, creating a beautifully structured layout that complements the font’s grooviness.
The free typeface was published in NEO2, a spanish urban culture magazine, where it was made available to the public for free. It’s also featured in the website Type Department as part of their free fonts section. You can also download it here!
